Easy Tropical Matcha Bowls
I've been really into matcha lately, it's supposed to be super good for you (antioxidants and all that) and honestly when I saw these little packets at Trader Joe's I just got really excited about the packaging so I had to have it. I wasn't super sold on the taste - I'm not a big green tea person (though I wish I was) so I needed to find a recipe that worked for me so I could get this goodness in me. It turned out that tropical fruits combined with creamy almond milk give it a fresh flavor and smooth texture and make me feel like I'm on vacation every morning.
If you couldn't already tell, Trader Joe's is my go to store, so basically assume from here on out that all ingredients come from my man TJ. Things I always stock that are so easy to keep on hand are: TJs small frozen bags of pineapple, mango, strawberry, and sometimes raspberries, as well as a bag of chia seeds and some kind of gf granola. As long as you regularly buy fresh bananas (I have no trouble going through those) and have some kind of liquid, you'll be well stocked to whip up a smoothie in no time at all and you won't have unused fruit all over the place. Also, I use almond milk over OJ, since it fills me up and is less sugar. The only specialty ingredients here are the matcha packets and a fresh kiwi for a little punch in the topping!
Just blend everything together, add a small scoop of each topping, and you're done! So easy, it takes like 5 minutes. If you want more of a frozen bowl texture just add less liquid. Hope you get to enjoy one of these this weekend!
