The T-Shirt Dress
I'll start this post off by saying I basically live in t-shirt dresses. As a designer, I always want to look put together and on trend, but working from home a lot and being twenty-four means I also like being comfy and I hate wearing pants, plus I have a small budget to work with. A constant dilemma. When t-shirt dresses became a thing, I was ecstatic. SO EASY. If you pair with a heel or a bootie, you look slightly edgy and so effortlessly cool. If you've read any of my other style posts, you know I am all about the effortless factor - it is my personal mission to pull off that "oh, I just threw this on" vibe (but not in a bad way, you know?)
I found these $10 dresses at Forever 21 and I am so obsessed I ordered two (pink and charcoal). There are a surprising number of cuts and fits you could go with in a t-shirt dress - this one is LITERALLY a giant t-shirt and I could not be more pleased. I love a good boxy cut and these are MY colors...I probably should have ordered the white, too. Check the inspiration below (images via F21)
I'm packing the gray one for Paris for wearing around the hotel, and the pink one already got its debut for cocktails with my bestie. Check back soon for the drink recipe we cooked up this past weekend!
I will say that the pink version is just a tiny bit see through, so make sure you have some nude shorts to wear underneath :) Thanks Cate for the delicious watermelon margs (isn't she just the cutest?)
