I want to start putting together more outfit posts. I lost the energy to make an effort to dress up at work for a while, since I’m not really client facing at the moment. But I’ve noticed that on the days I’ve put together an outfit and styled my hair, I feel more inspired! I love following other graphic designers to get outfit inspiration (there’s definitely a sort of artsy expectation with our field), but I’ve noticed many of them dress for warmer weather, and San Francisco is -always- sweater weather…
One of my biggest fashion inspirations right now is Anine Bing. I love how she effortlessly blends edgy pieces with soft or flowy silhouettes. There’s a sort of casual cool to her outfits that I want to emulate (honestly thinking of chopping all my hair off too, but one step at a time). A recipe I see her style over and over again is a simple combo of tee/sweatshirt, slip skirt, and ankle boots. It’s so easy, yet with a relaxed polished vibe.
I was gifted the Everlane French Terry Crew for my birthday and it’s honestly so perfect, I’m about to order it in a few more colors. It’s the perfect crop, not too baggy, and pairs so well with a satin-y slip skirt! I throw on a pair of dark metallic booties for a bit of edge, and this is my new go-to fall look at the office. I’ve also worn it to rehearsal dinners to look nice, but not overly dressy.
