As we head into the heart of Summer, I’m filled with inspiration — even though my calendar is thoroughly jam packed, I’m still trying to figure out ways to fit in more spontaneous gatherings with friends and family — whether that’s hosting an unexpected house guest, racing to the beach for a picnic on a warm weekend day, an at-home wine tasting, or late night guests around the fire with s’mores.

I’ve got my eye on quite a few objects for the home as I continue to work on our space: silver cocktail trays for bringing drinks from the kitchen to the living room, little table lamps for moodier lighting in the evenings, a small writing desk to help keep the dining table clutter free. And even though I just released the S/S Cookbook with all my favorites for entertaining this season, I’m always on the hunt for new and fresh recipes. I’ve got my eye on several new cocktails to try. Links to what I’m loving and what I have my eye on below!

What’s inspiring me:

Food

I can’t wait to try this copycat Souvla salad recipe by Olivia Noceda. It was one of my favorite lunches when I lived in the Bay Area and I miss it often… the fresh oranges are such a bright and uplifting treat! Would be perfect for a casual backyard hang with some orange wine, or even in a big batch as part of an event menu.

Drink

Ever since coming back from Bali I’ve been on a serious coconut kick. This Coconut Margarita by Join Jules (a fave) looks perfectly refreshing and summery and would look beautiful lined up on a silver serving tray, just saying. Or, if tequila isn’t your thing, her Frozen Chi Chi recipe (on Instagram) looks equally as delicious (and it has cinnamon in it?! yes.)

Design & Objects

As I mentioned above, I’m on the hunt for sweet little table lamps so we can avoid the overhead light at night, or take them outside for evening dining. I’m also loving serving trays in various sizes and materials, I definitely want a vintage silver one (and perhaps a silver vase as well), and maybe a smaller one to keep a carafe + cup in the guest bedroom. I’m seriously eyeing this flatware as well… have I become a silver convert?! I love how it cools down all the warm tones I’m usually drawn to; it looks great on my light wood dining table. Linen cocktail napkins are on my list, as are brown linen dinner napkins.
